Dua Lipa can officially add “runway model” to her resume, as she struts down for Versace’s Spring/Summer 2022 show at Milan Fashion Week held at Milan. The 26-year-old singer opened the show in an edgy black skirt suit, featuring cutouts held together by neon-hued safety pins, paired with black platform sandals and was accessorized bright teal graphic outliner and matching drop earrings.
Dua Lipa closed the show wearing a pink metal mesh corset and a matching fluid skirt with a slit. She posed beside Donatella Versace to wrap up the show, which songs were chosen from Lipa’s album Future Nostalgia, according to People.
The show opened with black suits and dresses with tiny flashes of colour in pins that peeked from hemlines and slits, the colours growing ever bolder. Versace pumped energy displaying the strong colours of the collection using bright colours, safety pins and especially silky foulards.
“It has been such an incredible experience to continue my journey with my Versace family from starring in a campaign to now opening the SS22 show! Donatella, it’s been a dream to walk in your beautiful show.” Lipa said per People. She also expressed her gratitude on a post in Instagram for having been chosen to open and close the show on what she described to be a “surreal moment”. In her post, she also pledged to be a Versace girl forever.
The famous singer walked the star-studded runway alongside famous models, Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk and more. Naomi Campbell also made her return to the runway just four months after giving birth to her daughter.
