The ‘Toxic’ singer recently saw her father, Jamie Spears, suspended from his role as co-conservator of her estate and is making a bid to have the conservatorship removed entirely after 13 years, and she’s paid tribute to her vocal supporters for their ongoing campaigning to give her back control of her life.

Spears’ identical posts on Twitter and Instagram on Monday were her first public comments on the case since a judge suspended her father as conservator of her estate last week, a move she had long expressed hope for.

“I have no words because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship,” she wrote. Spears’ lawyer Mathew Rosengart has said he hoped the conservatorship would be fully terminated in November. Through his own lawyer, Jamie Spears called the ruling “disappointing”. Writing on Twitter, the pop star said: “My life is now in that direction!!!!! I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it.”

In the court hearing in LA, Judge Brenda Penny formally ended the conservatorship arrangement the star has had with her father for 13 years, which was put in place after the singer was treated for mental health issues. “The current situation is not tenable,” Judge Penny told the court after the petition was made but did not end the conservatorship. She left in place a separate conservatorship with John Zabel, an accountant chosen by the singer’s legal team. Spears’ lawyers requested a new hearing be held in the next 30 to 45 days to decide whether to end the conservatorship altogether, with Mr Rosengart adding: “Britney doesn’t believe a mental evaluation is necessary, and I certainly don’t.”

Britney received an outpour of support from celebrities and fans alike, after alleging in a June 23 court testimony that she had been forced to perform, take medication and wear a contraceptive device against her will. Her attorney Matthew Rosengart, has vowed to pursue an investigation of her father, James Spears, and his handling of the conservatorship even now that he has been removed.

James Spears’ attorneys said there were no grounds for his removal, that his actions were always based on his daughter’s best interests, and that his suspension is a “loss for Britney.”

A hearing to discuss terminating the conservatorship is set for 12 November.
