South Korean boy band, BTS attended the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Moment at the 2021 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday, September 20, 2021.
More than a million people watched the virtual assembly while BTS screened a video performance of “Permission to Dance”, and delivered a speech regarding awareness for climate change, digital community, vaccines and the power of youth to change the future. While speaking in front of a crowd with various social statuses, diplomats, fans, and leaders from all over the world. The boy group mentioned how the youth nowadays managed to adapt and is still able to “forge ahead” during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Rather than calling this corona generation a ‘lost generation,’ the term ‘welcome generation’ is more suitable. We will be a generation that welcomes change,” group member Jin said.
