New Korean Drama, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” starring Shin Min-a and Kim Seon-ho, has been gaining popularity on Netflix streaming charts worldwide, following the global success of the dark survival drama, “Squid Game.”

While it might not have captured the throne on the list of the most-watched TV shows on Netflix, the romantic comedy has made history by making the top 10. According to streaming analytics platform FlixPatrol, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” was ranked ninth on the daily top 10 list just recently. It was listed on the Netflix Top 10 shows in about 20 countries, including Australia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Japan and Qatar.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is a perfect series to watch on a weekend after a long week of work and if you want to relax, said Lee Sang-yi, the rival love interest in the K-drama. “There are elements that are similar to a documentary and there are elements that have a dramatic side. I am sure you’ll be able to get good sleep after watching this comfortable drama.”

Fans described the series as a drama that will “soothe your eyes and refresh your minds.” The chemistry between the leads is just undeniable.  See those dimples? We can all agree that Min Ah and Seon Ho’s smiles are too infectious! The way their eyes light up when they see each other, every sweet and delicate moment they share together is more than enough for the viewers to let out a little scream (or kick their feet in the air) for that matter.

You will also see a couple of familiar faces in the series. Their strange, funny and welcoming neighborhood all in all adds to the success and influence of this favorite drama. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha may be focused on Hye Jin and Doo Shik’s love story, but it also tells the lives of the people around them. There are so many realistic characters here, like the neighbors who talk about the new girl in town but would eventually look after her. There’s the inseparable Hye Jin and Mi Seon, who have been BFFs through thick and thin. We have a former singer who was about to give up on his dream. And of course, the grannies who have their own way of showing their concern. It sure is a mixture of all emotions and it is something to look forward to after a busy day or week.
