The Boston Philharmonic is back this October!

Opera and Classical music have been keeping our calendars busy as most of them are back to bring us into different dimension again, and a deep dive into caves. For this month, Boston Philharmonic is scheduled to play through a virtual concert this coming October 15 at 301 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts.

Benjamin Zander, music director of the Boston Philharmonic and the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, is surely the most charismatic classical musician in Boston.

Zander will become the latest in the long line of celebrated conductors to receive a medal from the Bruckner Society of America for his Bruckner performances and especially for “his bold decision to help resume concert life in Boston in the wake of the pandemic with a performance of Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony.” Zander’s next program includes Mendelssohn’s exhilarating “Hebrides” Overture, Prokofiev’s tuneful and sentimental Second Violin Concerto with the outstanding Stefan Jackiw. Will this be the performance we have been waiting all our lives to hear? Plus the magnificent and moving Brahms Symphony No. 4.

This season’s opener features Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony, followed by concerts featuring other works on November 10th, Jackiw’s solo on February 6th and April 8th. Zander will receive the prestigious Kilenyi Medal of Honor from the Bruckner Society of America during the October 15 event. The youth orchestra launches its 10th anniversary season on November 19th with Barber’s Adagio, Mozart’s Haffner symphony, and Mahler’s Fourth Symphony.

Don’t miss your chance to experience his unsurpassed virtuosity in this orchestra’s most introspective and contemplative piano concerto.
