BLACKPINK’s Lisa was noticed to be missing during the BVLGARI Paris Fashion Week show and this led to several fans speculating on why the K-pop singer missed one of the biggest shows of Paris Fashion Week.
Recently the CEO of Bulgari, a brand that she is the ambassador of, took to Instagram to clear the air regarding her absence from their ETAM LIVE SHOW 2021. Under a series of videos and photos, JC Babin posted, “Lisa is in Paris but unfortunately due to COVID her agency doesn’t want her to participate to Event. Pity as we have an incredible Bvlgari event tomorrow in Milano and she won’t attend”. Following his initial post, he further elaborated on her absence from yet another event with Lisa’s picture. Meanwhile, Lisa’s fans worldwide were fuming on Wednesday after realizing their star was not allowed to join the BVLGARI-backed show at the Paris Fashion Week this year due to Covid-19 concerns. The hashtag #YGLetLisadoHerWork trended on Wednesday as many fans took to social media to voice their disappointment with her agency firm YG Entertainment, and that they were curious why Lisa was sent to Paris in the first place if she wasn’t permitted to attend any of the fashion week’s events. Fans are speculating that YG Entertainment is trying to restrict Lisa’s popularity so that other ‘Korean’ members could shine. Other members of Blackpink: Jennie, Jisoo and Rose were also in Paris to attend their brand shows but none of them was restricted by YG Entertainment from going to events or meeting other people due to ‘COVID’ restrictions. If YG didn’t let any of them attend at all due to Covid then it might have been understandable but restriction only on Lisa doesn’t make sense. Jisoo, Jennie and Rose also attended very crowded events without wearing any masks.
Her fanbase Team Lisa Philippines stated that they will halt their support of BLACKPINK’s work except for Lisa’s solo activities in response to ‘lack of proper treatment’. “We have constantly protested for YG to improve their management,” the fan group said. And as the issue escalates, fans were enraged even more when they found out that Lisa’s playlist in Spotify was removed by YG Entertainment – asking for an explanation.
But, according to reports, there is no need to worry about why Lisa missed the BVLGARI show. As fans may know, BLACKPINK’s Lisa is the official ambassador of BVLGARI, so missing the show is a really big thing. According to the BVLGARI’s creative director, Jean-Cristophe Babin, Lisa was not able to attend the show due to YG Entertainment’s decision to keep her safe. According to Babin, the restrictions that YG put on their stars regarding COVID is very strict, and thus this is the reason why Lisa was not at the show.
