Christmas is very fast approaching, and Marie Kondo jut gave her expert tips to help us get ready for the festive and much awaited season. We all want to celebrate Christmas in the most special and memorable way. We spend it with our dear loved ones and the house feels homier when decorated and arranged in a clean and minimalist way. Tidying up can be one of this, and which person can best give this advice than Marie Kondo?

At Christmas, families gather together in the home, often with a number of generations under one roof. Hosting the festivity can be stressful.

With many people at home, presents, decorations, and all the additional food, it can be hard to keep on top of it. Maintaining a tidy space will help you enjoy a calm, peaceful Christmas time. Marie Kondo became an interior sensation with her Netflix show Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. “There is some tidying that you should do before starting the holiday season, but it might not be what you think!” she said. “The most important thing to prepare for the holiday season that will help spark joy for you and those around you is to start by making plans, including time to tidy.” Marie advised taking time to think about your “perfect holiday vision”.

“First envision your perfect holiday with the goal of identifying the things that are important to you. If something isn’t important to you prior to the holidays, then don’t let it take over your time and thoughts during the season. Keep it simple and stay focused on your pre-holiday vision.”

Marie also advised putting time into your days during the Christmas period to stay on top of the home. She said that adding time to tidy into your pre-holiday schedule will keep you on track, and that if you keep telling yourself you’ll tidy when you have some free time, it’s never going to happen.
