The Philippines is no longer on the red list for entering United Kingdom. This is in accordance to the UK government’s travel advisory last Friday to lift the said travel status.
“From 4 a.m. On Monday, October 11, the Philippines will no longer be on the red list for entering England.”
The UK imposed travel restrictions on several countries which included the Philippines last April due to the emerging variants of SARS-COV-2. This was implemented to avoid possible spread of the more contagious virus form.
This new travel system allowed 47 countries to be cut from the red list leaving Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Haiti, and Dominican Republic still on strict status.
They also added that fully vaccinated Filipino travelers will no longer be required to stay at a quarantine hotel upon arrival.
“Eligible fully vaccinated passengers and eligible under 18s returning from countries and territories not on the red list can do so with just a day 2 test,” the UK government said.
They will also be required to complete a passenger locator form 48 hours before arrival in the UK.
Moreover, it was also made clear that for those travelers who are not yet fully jabbed with the vaccine must still take a pre-departure test, a Day 2 and Day 8 test after arrival, and complete 10 days self-isolation.
With the recently declining count of COVID-19 cases from other countries, tourism in the country is starting to become optimistic as the Inter-Agency Task Force for the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) also eases quarantine period for travelers and visitors from countries under the green and yellow list.
